Actor's Reel
Jahsiah Rivera is a mixed-race actor and artist. Rivera was born and raised in New York City, where he often moved back and forth between Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn and Flushing, Queens.
Rivera joined the theater community in 2006, when he became a member of the Urban Youth Theater program (U.Y.T) at Abrons Arts Center in Manhattan. During his time there he was able to perform in one of Third Rail Projects’ first immersive performance pieces; Steampunk Haunted House in 2010.
Later, he began collaborating with multi-media artist, Michael Paul Britto on performance pieces, which focused on men of color living in modern-day society.
Most recently, Rivera spent a year studying at Shakespeare’s Globe in London where he was able to work with Mark Rylance, Patrick Spottiswoode and Simon Dormandy. Later that year, he performed at Shakespeare’s Globe Theater as Rosalind in a production of As You Like it.
In December 2017, he earned his BFA in acting from Rutgers University, Mason Gross School of the Arts.
