Actor's Reel
Lucas Calhoun is an American actor based out of the New York area.
He is the product of a midwestern youth. His family seemed to progressively move south from his birthplace in Springfield Illinois to Kansas, Oklahoma and finally Texas where he attended The University of Texas at Austin.
After completing his undergraduate degree he moved, as one often does, to sunny Los Angeles where he enrolled in Improv Olympic’s training center before he even found a place to live. Lucas quickly found his artistic home amongst the talented improv folk of Los Angeles. He would eventually go on to graduate from The Second City Conservatory in Hollywood and would one day find himself teaching in their youth program.
Los Angeles is a great place to get distracted. The almost nightly improv performances and lifestyle booking several national commercials a year can provide was certainly distracting. Realizing he needed to refocus his craft Lucas attended the UC-IRVINE, MFA in acting program.
When his MFA showcase in New York garnered Broadway auditions and callbacks he made the move to New York. Less than a year after being in the city he was cast in the Broadway production of The Elephant Man which later transferred to London’s The West End.
Lucas continues to work in the New York area on stage and most recently as a recurring character during the second season of Showtime’s critically acclaimed television show BILLIONS.
